Inconsistent Performance: On my previous devices (iPhone 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max), I could take sharp photos in any setting and with movement. If you want a picture that is 20inch on the long side you could only get 150dpi, because your camera resolution is too small.
Your iPhone 14 pro has a resolution that should be sufficient for all your normal prints. Assuming that the final image will be A2, it looks like that would require a pixelation of 7016 x 9933, but the best I can get from my iPhone 15 is 6048 x 8064 (that's using the main camera at 48MP in photo mode at x1 resolution). I would have thought you could have worked that out yourself, from the Technical Specifications, or from my post. The two exported images appear to be equal in resolution (4032 x 3024 pixels, taken on an iPhone 11). However, the "regular" export takes up more space (9 MB) than the exact same resolution image from the unmodified original export (5 MB). What's happening here? Which is the correct "original" form of my photo?
The 9 MB version? Or the 5 MB ... On the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, you only get full 48‑megapixel output in certain modes. Most of the time, the camera downsamples images to 24 MP or 12 MP using pixel binning or cropping.
